9.09. New roads, drains and sewers were constructed in conjunction with the development of a number of resettlement and low-cost housing projects. Works were carried out in respect of 1 estate on Hong Kong Island, 5 estates in Kowloon and 4 estates in the New Territories.

9.10. This division was formed on 1st September, 1970 with responsibility for the design of all new highways structures and bridges. It also provides consulting facilities on structural matters to the Civil Engineering Office.

9.11. The primary task of the Division to date has been to establish the fixing of design standards and to produce design data.

Design Projects in Hong Kong

9.12. Detailed design of a combined overhead conveyor/footbridge and part of a Covered Way at Connaught Road Central was substantially completed.
