AT the Hong Kong C.C. yesterday afternoon, in Α

the Colony Doubles Championship, F. H. Kwok and S. W. Liang were within an ace of winning in straight sets against A. V. Gosano and A. V. Remedios, when the latter levelled the scores after a grand rally during which they saved several match points, and eventually won the encounter in a final set which barely lasted ten minutes.

IN THE FIRST SET THE CHINESE PAIR WERE SLIGHT- LY THE MORE RELIABLE AND WITH GOSANO AND REME- DIOS FALLING DOWN ON EASY "KILLS” RAN OUT WIN- NERS AFTER 14 GAMES.

Kwok, at this period, was the best player on the court, his fore- hand drive finding the gaps in the opposition with great regularity. He played faultlessly, severity being the keynote of a brilliant dis-
