Silver Prices Steady

is required in this field for any new wage and consequent rate ad- justments to make themselves felt We, therefore, feel that the labour situation is not a threat for the pre- sent and, meanwhile, there is excellent outlook for an increase in the volume of freight.

ал

In the industrial section of the market, while there has been increase in crude oil stocks, the statistical position of oils is still strong at the present price. Copper stocks are not yet reflecting the increase in the price of the metal, hence we would still buy Anaconda, We feel that Montgomery, Ward Sa is very attractive at around these Clevels, while farm equipment and electrical equipment shares also offer good opportunities. Purchases of Allis-Chalmers are also warrant- ed, especially in view of the large potential demand from utility com panies, which will require near-term satisfaction.

L

Taking the situation generally, while the labour threat still remains, we continue to feel that the pre- sent depressing effect of this and the various political uncertainties affords for the time being an op- portunity to build up a long posi- tion in selective issues.

Business done-2,080,000 shares. Cotton: The market is acting bet-- ter and is showing a tendency to harden. There was further, heavy arbitrage buying, based on the strength of the foreign markets. We would buy for July, without over- reaching.
