The buildings, which are well over a hundred years old, cover an area of 12,000 square feet, and are to be re- placed by a new building in classic style, with a Portland stone front in keeping with the property on the op posite corner of Sackville Street.
One of the shops affected is a sport-- ing print gallery which has been in Piccadilly since 1783. Recently it moved to New Bond Street. A hatter is now in another address in Piccadilly and a bookseller has a new shop in Sackville Street One other shop, hosier's, is still trading there, with empty shops for neighbours. This shop is likely to be incorporated in the new building.
