CHINA TO MEET

The outstanding feature of the draw: for the Davis Cup.compefi- tion, which was made yesterday, is the return to the series of Italy, who have drawn a bye into the Second Round, where they will meet Monaco, while Japan will meet the United States in the American Zone.
China, who have again entered the European Zone of the com petition, will meet New Zealand.
The following it the order of the draw:-
EUROPEAN - ZONE Byes into 2nd Round:
Italy v. Monaco
Germany v. Austria
Sweden v. Greece.
First Round
Belgium v. Hungary- Switzerland v. Ireland
South Africa v. Netherlands China.v. New Zealand..
Byes into 2nd Round:
Yugoslavia v. Rumania Poland v. Czechoslovakia France v. Norway.
AMERICAN ZONE
First Round:
United States v. Japan Mexico v. Australia.
Great Britain, the holders of the Davis Cup competition, will meet winners of the Inter-Zone cham- pionship in the Challenge Round at Wimbledon.-Reuter.

London: The draw for the Davis Cup competition was made yes terday in traditional manner by the Lord Mayor of London. Twenty-five countries have entered the competition this year, and the contest will once again be divided into two Zones, the European and American Zones...
Of the countries which parti- cipated last Spring, Spain, Cuba and Argentina. are missing this
year, while Rumania, New Zealand and South Africa are newcomers to the series. In the American Zone, Japan will meet the United States, filling Cuba's vacancy.
As a result of the draw, Ger- many would appear to have an ex- cellent chance of reaching the Final of the European Zone in the upper half, "while in the lower-sec- tion, France is expected to succeed.
