A HUGE SENSATION HAS BEEN CAUSED HERE BY THE ASSASSINATION OF THE RUSSIAN ECONOMIC EX- PERT, DIMITRI NAVACHIN, WHO WAS SHOT BY UN- KNOWN PERSONS WHILE WALKING IN THE BOIS DE BOULOGNE YESTERDAY.
It is not known whether political motives were behind the murder, though several factors point to this being the case.
Navachin, who has resided in Paris for some time, played an important role in relations between France and Russia and was generally regarded as a staunch member of the Soviet Party.
