Torquay, November 18. HE "Big Three" here, Miss Round, Senorita Lizana and Miss Stammers, all entered the third round of the Palace covered court tourna- ment to-day without serious threat. Their test- ing time is to come.

Miss Stammers was in court longest, finding Miss N. B. Brown both tenacious and resourceful in her opening set. Á bustling start by Miss Stammers did not depress Miss Brown;} she nearly reduced a winning lead, drawing loose returns by a steady and adroit defence. But in the second set Miss Stam- mers began to hit those forehand screamers which, when the arm is true, brook no reply.

The invader from Chile was opposed to Miss A Fisher, a COUNTIES Sussex player, who found control of the ball difficult when the Senorita was driving it with the pace of an express train. But Miss Fisher's two games were well earned, and she had the satisfaction of winning one of them with the best volley of the day.
