The widow had, with the know- ledge of her daughter, kept this sum of Swiss money in a cupboard for years but on learning of the devaluation of the Swiss franc had taken it to the bank to be changed. The mother and daugh- ter were then promptly arrested. The 23.000 francs were confisent- ed by the State in addition to the. sentences imposed.--Trans-Ocean Service.
