Plane Could Not Clear Trees

A. Scott's arrival here as an easy winner of the Johannesburg sir race, news was received that Capt. Findlay and Mr. Waller's Airspeed Envoy had crashed at Abercorn, Northern Rhodesia, and that Capt. Findlay and the wireless operator. Mr. A. H. Morgan, had been kill jed. Mr. Waller and Mr. Derek Peachey, who was a passenger in the plane, were suffering from shock in addition to other injur-: fies.
Capt. Findlay and Mr. Waller had taken off from Entebbe, on Lake Victoria, for Broken Hill. Ibut were obliged to come down at Abercorn. It was while they were taking of from there that the crash occurred.
