Leaders On Trial By People's Court

RIVERA BROTHERS FACE TRIBUNAL

"CHINA MAIL" SPECIAL

Paris, To-day.

The trial of the leader of the Fascist Party in Spain, Senor Jose Antonio Primo de River, his brother Miguel and his wife,] all of whom are in the hands of the Madrid Government, has be gun before the People's Court in Alicante, all three being accused of having participated in the Spanish uprising.

From the court proceedings it has been learned that Antonio Primo de Rivera denied that the party founded by him has imper) ialistic aims, and declared that his journey to Germany possessed no political character.

His brother Miguel declared that he knew nothing about the political activity of his brother and denied the accusation of the prosecutor that the revolver found in the cell of the two brothers was smuggled in by his wife. The woman defendant denied having: played the role of intermediary between the imprisoned men and the Nationalists. - Trans-Ocean Service.
