London, October 15. AST season was a depression one for the Scottish Rugby enthusiasts, and the future does not appear particularly bright. Scotland's representatives were beaten on their merits by New Zealand, Wales, Ireland, and England, and their eclipse had no redeeming features, says the "Morning Post." -

The selectors as usual incurred a good deal of hostile criticism and it may be that they did not exploit their resources to the best advantage, but players of outstanding ability were pro nouncedly scarce, and those chosen regularly failed to reproduce their own well-established form. It would appear that the seler- tors are confronted with the task of rebuilding the national side almost from the foundations.

It is curious to note how in the last decade Scotland has fared better against England than against the other countries. Of the ten matches played in that time Scotland has besten Eng- Įland five times, lost four times, and drawn once. Both Wales and Ireland, however, have beaten Scotland seven times, and în the last thirty international games Scotland has had eleven wins and eighteen defeats
