This left hand of Jimmy Braddock's is under the close scrutiny of Dr. George Edson of the New York Boxing Commission. Maxie Schmeling (centre) hoped the commission would rule the hand all- right so the scheduled world championship bout in September would go on. The decision, however, favoured Braddock`and the bout was consequently postponed until June, 1937.

LARGE GATHERING AT Y.M.C.A. POOL

(By "Crawl")
SPLENDID exhibition of swimming was witnessed in the European Y.M.C.A. pool yesterday evening, when the Japanese World Olympic women's swimming team were featured in a series of events against the cream of local talent before the largest gathering ever record- ed at the "Y" Bath.
Swimming with effortless ease, the Japanese women were a wonderful picture of perfect synchronisation and rhythm and, in spite of performing at "exhibition speed," they proved much too good for the local swimmers and invariably finished up over half a length in the lead.
The outstanding feature of the afternoon's swimming was in the 150 Yards breast-stroke exhibition, in which Miss H Machata, the world and Olympic 200 Metres champion, gave a wonderful performance, finishing a full length ahead of Miss Dora Lum, the Kwangtung Provincial champion, whose plucky swim against a much better trained swimmer, evoked great applause.
