IN spite of the lack of opposition, Wilfred Lawrence swam a very fine race against time in the Colony 220 Yards free-style cham- pionship yesterday evening in the Victoria Recreation Club swimming pool when he failed HANDICAP by 2.4-5 secs. to lower his Interport mark of 2 mins. 23 secs. established last year in the Colony, and his own Colony Championship mark by four- fifths of a second.
In the only other championship event of the evening, L/Cpl. G. London, of the East Lancashire Regiment, won the Colony Plunging title with 52 feet 7 ins, followed by E. de Souza, of There were only three Club de Recreio. with 51 ft. 11 ins. entrants, the third being Sergt.
