The rebuilding of the organ of St. John's Cathedral, made pos- sible by the splendid response to the organ appeal fund, begins to- day. In addition to a thorough overhaul of the instrument, the scheme includes the rovision of

a detached console on the north side of the transept. which will make it possible for a performer to hear his instrument better. facilities for providing added effecting balance
