to expectations there were only two teams in the 200 Metres Open Relay for Ladies at the Chinese Bathing Club's fourth monthly swimming gala held at Quarry Bay last night, although the other events were very sport. evenly contested and provided fine especially the Ladies' 100 Metres Free Style Championship.

The Victoria Recreation Club Ladies put up a gallant show- ing against a faster average team and, although there was not much in it at the finish of the race. it was evident that the visitors were far from being at ease under the strange conditions. and not one of the swimmers made a good turn at the end of the first length.

Miss M. Roza made her first appearance in competitive sport for over a year and swam a good race, but was no match for her opponent in the Open Relay.
