Should they secure the anticipated success, they will have won the Championship three times consecutively on two occa sions, a feat previously achieved only by the Taikoo Club who won from 1912 to 1915 inclusive, and again from 1917 to 1919! Silva began with a four and another one early on gave him a useful lead, but by the 11th head he was in arrears and only five in two heads enabled him to get home by the odd one.
