JACK PETERSEN TO DEFEND HIS TITLES AGAINST BEN FOORD

DEFEAT VOLUNTEERS AND JAPANESE

SPORTING GESTURE MADE

(By "Infield") THE Pui-Ching Academy consolidated their position at the head of the local Baseball League when they defeated both the Eastern and the Japanese Young Men's Association in their League encounters yesterday, and their vic- tories were due to no small extent to their better knowledge of the finer points of the game and their excellent base-stealing ability.

To C.-King must go much of the credit for these wins. In the first game he played at centre-field, where he stopped every- thing which came his way, and scored a home-run in the first game against the Eastern. He pitched remarkably well against the Japanese in the second game and gave them only three scattered hits.

:

In the first clash Eastern played a great game in spite of odds against them, losing by 11 runs to 3 but, like the Volun- teers on Saturday, were guilty of numerous errors through lack of experience.
