LAST week's Lawn Bowls League results were
rather over-shadowed by the first "possible" of the season, which Hyde-Lay's rink scored against W. Gill's Craigengower "B" rink at Cox's Path. As is usual in these cases, the result of the head was unexpected! There looked to be only 6 in it, but the tell-tale tape was applied and settled the issue. Gill was unlucky in giving away what proved to be the eighth shot when he promoted it, in trying to make a port.
It was not to be wondered at that this head had a demora- lising effect on the opposing rink, which scored only four more shots to lose by 21. The other two rinks balanced out evenly, Rosselet beat Phillips and Fraser being 9 shots up on Field.
The Indians went down badly to Craigengower "A" as I expected, although Dallah did well to secure the better of Luz and his very steady men. The other two visiting rinks were badly beaten. At King's Park the Portuguese team had an easy match against Kowloon Docks, for whom Lapsley, four times is officially announced that Rao Raja Hanut Singh has accept-Interporter, skipped a rink, and held C. This announcement has been
expected for the last week or so, since the preliminary practice games at Beaufort Club have made it painfully apparent that no

Hanut Singh will strengthen our side immensely. He is the star player of the unbeatable Jaipur team and his handicap is 8 goals. In that team he played No. 3 and will doubtless occupy He has all the points of the same position in the England team. a first-class-player, with the keenest possible eye for an "altack- ing opening.
