A
GOOD and evenly contested soccer game in which the defences of both sides shone, was witnessed at Prince Edward Road yesterday when the East Lancs. beat the Fusiliers by the odd goal in three and thus concluded their sea- son as runners-up to the Royal Navy in the Second Division of the Hong Kong Football League.
The Fusiliers neglected Roberts, their left-winger, for the majority of the game and played as it were, with only four forwards. This error undoubtedly contributed largely towards their defeat. The few occasions on which Roberts had the ball- and these were mostly in the first half-proved that he could be a very live source of danger.
Tayior. the Fusilier right-half, heralded his return to locall football with a rousing display. He was opposed to a fast left- wing combine in Tuley and Crook, but he stuck to his task well.
