The news of the Tokyo revalt last month was received with great interest throughout the world. Our photographs show an aerial view of Tokyo (bottom right), with, above, army and marise detachments in a sham bayonet battle in the streets of the city during rocent manoeuvres. Inset left is Mr. Famio Goto, former Home Secretary, who immediately after the revolt accepted the position of Premier temporarily and then handed in the combined resignation of the Cabinet.
Admiral Mineo Osumi, Minister
of the Navy, above, was mention- ed as a possible candidate for the Premiership after the revolt.

Top left-Japanese troops called upon ste maintain order in the capital at the time of the revolt landing from a lorry to take up a strategie position-Above are the members of the former Japanese Cabinet, who are alleged to have opposed the increased Government expenditures for the army and a more vigorous military campaign in the Far East, leading indirectly to the abortive revolt. Left to right they are:-Mr. Famio. Goto, Home Minister: Mr.-Tatsunosoke Yamazald, Minister of Agriculture; Admiral Keisuke Okada, the Premier, who escaped assassination by a clever ruse; Mr. Mochi- zniki, Minister of Communications; `Admiral Mineo Osumi, Minister of the Navy; and General - Kawashima, Minister of War.
