UNILATERAL BREACH OF TREATY

OFFICIALLY DENOUNCED

ANNOUNCEMENT ON ATTITUDE

IN COMMONS TO-DAY IMMEDIATE LEAGUE COUNCIL MEETING DEMANDED BY FRANCE

London, To-day.

Reuter understands that Mr. Anthony Eden, receiving the German Ambassador on Saturday, told him that the British Government took a serious view of the unilateral action by the German Government. The British Ambassador at Berlin adopted a similar attitude when he re- ceived the memorandum from Baron von Neurath.

Mr. Eden was at the Foreign Office all day yesterday and conferred with Mr. Stanley Baldwin late in the afternoon. He will make a state- ment in the House of Commons to day, defining the British attitude to Germany's action, and will attend a meeting in Paris, probably on Tuesday, of the Powers signatory to the Locarno Pact minus Germany. The discussion concerning the procedure to be adopted at Paris and Geneva will be com pleted this evening, when M. Corbin again meets Mr. Eden at the Foreign Office. Reuter.
