NAVY JUNIORS JUST AVOID HEAVY-DEFEAT
(By "LB.W.”) THANKS to a fine bowling performance by S. V. Gittins, coupled with an excellent knock by N. A. E. Mackay, the Kowloon Cricket Club beat the Royal Navy in their First Division League encounter on Saturday by 6, wickets. Although the K.C.C. are still two points behind the Indians, with the same number of games played, they are by no means out of the running and the Indians have only to draw with the University in their last match of the season to give Kowloon the chance of a re-play, provided, of course, that Kowloon win their other match.

In the other League match, at afternoon Recreio failed by Your runs to beat the Engineers after they had dismissed them for a pal- try 76! It was definitely a dey for bowlers, A. F. Noronha (Be-- ereio) having 5 for 24 and Hoc- dinot (Engineers) & for 26. The failure of the Recreio batsmin, however, was inexcusable for they were given a good start by W, A. Reed and A. J. Prats, who added 32 for the first wicket.
The Friendlies
The friendly matches between the Indian Recreation Club and Civil Service Cricket Club (in both divisions) were called ; off owing to the difficulty of getting together the teams. The Races, I presume, had something to do with it.

Craigengower beat the Univer sity in a low-scoring match by 29 runs. It was a bowler's match with E. L. Gosano (5 for 23) and H. Ozorio (4 for 93) of the University, and A. T. Lee (4 for 20) A. B. Himson (5 for 22) of the C.C.C. in the limelight.
In the Junior match, too, the University were beaten Against same very steady bowling by A. Kitchell and G. T. Lee they only scored 36 runs, the last named getting 3 wickets for as many runs apiece each.
