There is plenty of provocative matter in the February number of The Rock, which has just been' issued. The leading article deals at some length with the persecu- tion of "Roman Catholics in Ger- many, marshalling a great deal of evidence to show that that per- secution has neither been lessened nor conducted with less ferocity In recent months.

It displays an uncompromising non possumus attitude, which may be logical and inspired by the highest teach- ings, bat is, to the mind of the present writer, based on premises which certainly need re-examina- tion in the light of modern de- velopments of thought. However, that is matter of opinion; nothing could be more steadfast: that the ideas of the Roman Catholic Church on the matter.
