DEMPSEY SHOWS CONFIDENCE IN BRADDOCK AGAINST LOUIS
UNPARALLELED FEAT
BY DRAKE
RUTHLESS EXPOSURE OF
VILLA'S WEAKNESS
SCHEME FOR STOPPING GREAT
TRANSFER RUSH
London, December 16. THE ruthless exposure by Edward Drake, Arsenal's centre forward, of Aston Villa's defensive weakness has set the football world a- talking as to what is to become of the famous club. Just when it was thought that they were about to make a recovery they have been sent headlong into the depths again..
The Villa are truly in a sorry plight. After having seen them "a fortnight ago, it did not surprise me that the Arsenal defeated them. A team, who play with Arsenal's orderliness and system; were just the sort to show up the Villa's imperfect team methods. And about Drake and his unparalleled feat of scoring all seven goals. It does not matter what the dusty pages of history may reveal there has never been anything like it before.

At King's Park last night, the Recreio "A" beat the St. John's Club by 8 sets to 1:-
The last time I saw Drake he was a little disconsolate. Ee re- garded the ball as even more than usually perverse and spiteful. It would not go into the ret no mat- iter how hard he tried.

But I recall how his eyes spar-. kled when I told him that in my lopinion his play had improved, land that he was a better centre
