MISS J. DALZIEL DISAPPOINTS
FTER a disastrous opening for the first 10! minutes at least they played a purely defen- sive game-the Ladies' Interport hockey team settled down to beat the Rest by the convincing margin of 3 goals to 1 in a practice game at King's Park yesterday morning.
Miss S. Dalziel, the Interport inside-right, was still suffer- ing from the effects of the sprained ankle she sustained recently, and was unable to take her place in the team. The gap was filled by Miss J. Dalziel.
After making allowances for the usual run of nerves Miss Dalziel gave one of the poorest displays given by a possible Interporter for some time. She mishit the ball all too frequently, while many of her passes failed through being too hard or wide.

RODGER'S FINE GOALKEEPING
(By Referee"}
ERY disappointing football was featured in the Interport trial held at the Club before a large gathering of spectators, and it was apparent from the talent on view that the selec tors would have to go outside of yesterday's trial teams to fill in several of the positions.
Although Costa, at left-back, gave a fairly sound display throughout, he was by no means up to Interport standard, while both Swain and Steele, Colours' full-backs, were often wild in their clearances and kicked at will, without sense of direction. It Must be said, however, that Swain's interceptions and first-time methods were the means of preventing several goals
Yesterday's trial proved conclusively that George Rodger, of the Club, is still the best custodian in South China. He was very confident and was powerless to prevent the two goals scored against him Rowlands, of the Fusiliers, was off colour and badly misjudged the flight of the ball on several occasions. He did, however, save well on several occasions, but was lucky to have had a poor forward-line in opposition.
Of the four backs on display, Mak Shui-hon, of the Athletic was the safest, and combined effectively with Costa. He was,
