Both teams played very good football and it was a fine game from the spectators' view-point. Regler was the only weak point in turo the Navy team; he made costly mistakes, and after thest "gift goals" the Navy seemed to be somewhat demoralised--Wear- mouth missed a penalty!

final Ladies' Interport hockey trial, which was held on the Club ground at King's Park yesterday, gave the Interport Selection Committee their last opportunity of seeing prospective candidates to meet the Shanghai Ladies' Hockey Association in the Interport match on January 24, and their announcement, after a surprisingly brief con- sultation, provided two surprise selections in the forward line.
The selection of Miss M. Smith, the C.BA. Ladies' inside-forward as the Interport right- winger, may, in the eyes of the Interport Selection Committee be justified, but on yesterday's display in an unaccustomed position she would hardly have qualified for another trial The left-wing position went to Miss Westcott, who, although she possesses speed and power behind her shots, has no ball control whatsoever.
...
The Colony intermediate line, comprising Miss J. Wang, Miss E. M. Bryson and Mrs Bell, could not have been bettered. On the last two trials Miss. Wong has proved her worth. her spoiling being grand. The most apparent weakness yesterday, however, was at left-back. where Miss A Fowler gave a very poor display and by no means justified inclusion in the
team.
