TAIKOO'S IMPROVED BADMINTON DISPLAY RECREIO "A" TOO GOOD FOR "B" COMBINATION--
A
FIRE BRIGADE DEFEATED
GREAT surprise was caused in the Men's Doubles Badminton League last night, when the Taikoo Recreation Club secured four sets against the Victoria Recreation Club at Quarry

to take things too easily against them.
G.Sommer, left, played a very fine game against the Lincolns yesterday in partnership with J. E. Potter, centre, while Miss I. Adey, right, will lead the "Y" Ladies' attack against the Central British Association Ladies in their Caer Clark Cup match on Saturday (next):
SOUTH AFRICA'S GREAT CRICKET I
C. Summers and A. W. Norrie played an exceptionally good VICTORIA CLUB game last night, displaying good combination, which has seldom
been seen among the Taikoo player, and they accounted for two CALL-OVER FOR

DAND MAKES WELCOME RETURN TO FIELD
A
REEKS · AGAIN IMPRESSIVE
RATHER uninteresting friendly hockey match between the Lincolns and the Hong Kong Club, in which both teams scored once, was featured by the return, after an absence of nearly two years, of the well-known hockey veteran, A. A. Dand, who turned out for the ClubTM* at left-wing in the absence of D. L. Nooy.
The game was uninteresting inasmuch as both forward lines lacked initiative. The match was fairly fast, but neither brili- ant passing nor clever stickwork distinguished the players of either team.
.
The outstanding player in the Club eleven was W. A. Reed, in the pivotal position. He combined with the forwards very wel, sending up many perfect passes.
