There has been a tremendous response to the Hong Kong Polo Club's Gymkhana which is to take place next Saturday afternoon, on the Polo ground, Boundary Street, commencing at 2:30 pm, the heats of which will be held on Thursday, at 3.30 pm

This is the second Gymkhana of the year, the first having been held by the Machine Gun Troop, Hong

London, September 16. W. E. Hadley, the All Black's hooker, who is in hospital at Ply- mouth as the result of an injury received in the match at Devon- port, was yesterday stated to be "still fairly comfortable.”

Hadley underwent an X-ray examination last night and this showed that he is suffering from a fractured cheek bone. He will be detained in hospital for at least several days, and there is a possibility that he will be out of the All Blacks side for two or

three matches.

MAGNIFICENT RALLY IN SEVENTH ROUND TRIUMPH FOR BRITISH PLUCK

London, October 3.

THOUSAND to one chance! That was what

Harry Mizler, 22-year-old London Jewish light-weight, landed at the Albert Hall, Ken- sington, last night, when he beat Gustave Humery, whirlwind French fighter, on a technical knock-out in the eighth round. «

Never has there been a more thrilling fight scene than when Mizler, who had been battered all over the ring and five times. reduced to the point of collapse, came out in round eight to snatch the fight from the fire.

As Humery, the tigerish puncher whose blows had sunk wrist-deep into the Englishman's body, whose aggressive battling was winning him the contest in a canter, began to crumple from some astonishing rights to the jaw, 6,000 people leapt to their feet in an excited wave.

All through the final round, men and women in evening

dress were standing of their TOMMY LOUGHRAN chairs waving programmes and hats and yelling encouragement

to the gallant Mizler.
