The pilgrimage, which is being led by the Bishop of Down and | Connor, Dr. Magetan, is organised by the Irish Franciscans. Twenty: altars have been set up in the liner, and a special Oratory has been fitted. This is to be a per- manent structure. Loud-speakers have been installed on the decks. so that all the pilgrims can take part each day in the services.
Twelve Franciscan friars and 150 secular priests are travelling with the pilgrims. There · are hospitals on board, where medical! men, nans and nurses will attend |to the invalīds.
Before the liner left Dublin the pilgrims crowded the decks, sing- ing hymns, in which the people on shore joined. The Lord Mayor
of Dublin was among those pre-j sent.
