OVER WAGES
Plea:ling not guilty to a. charge of wounding Mr. and Mrs. Sherriff, of No. 11 Bay View Mansions. Chung Kwong a cook boy, was remanded till Monday next. by Mr. W. Scho-i field at the Central Magistracy. this morning.
Inspector C. Rozeskwy said that the defendant was employ. ed as a cook boy at No. 11. Bay View Mansions by Mr. Sheriff of the Sanitary department, at a monthly wage of $23 and had been employed for over two months. On September! 30. a quarter ton of coal was delivered to the house and Mrs. Sherriff then did not have $3.75 change with which to pay for it and the coolie was told to re- turn later. Later in the day she gave the defendant $75 with which to pay for the coal
