A crowd of 84,831 saw Joe Louis, the "Black Bomber" from Detroit, knock out Maxie Baer, former world champion, in the fourth round of their scheduled 15-round elimination bout for the world's heavyweight boxing championship here last night. This was the first time that Maxie Baer had been knocked out.
Louis, who practically slaughtered Carnera on June 25 last and who is now considered to be the coming world's champion, is hailed as the greatest boxer in history. He relentlessly punished Baer, who was given no chance throughout four thrilling rounds against a demon-like opponent who whipped terrific left jabs to
the head and.right-hooks to the body with monotonous precision. Baer was unable to counter the fierce attack of his Negro opponent and at the conclusion looked in a sorrier plight than he did against Braddock less than six weeks ago, his face presenting, a gory sight with blood oozing from his lip and nose.

It is understood that the Cabinet yesterday fully approved of the policy pursued by Britain, following reports by Sir Samuel Hoare on the Italo-Abyssinian dispute. The Cabinet also con- sidered their reply to M. Charles Corbin's queries with regard to Britain's attitude in the event of aggression in Europe, which is expected to be pub- lished at the end of the week. It is understood that the Cabinet also noted with satisfaction cer- tain "detentes" between Britain and Italy re- cently..
