OFFICIAL RECEIVER NAMED LIQUIDATOR
A petition for the winding up of the Hong-Kong 'Aumsements. Lid. was heard and granted by the Puisre Judge, Mr. R. E. Lind- sell, in the Supreme Court this afternoon.
Mr. H. G. Macnamara, instruct- ed by Mr. H. J. Armstrong of Deacons appeared on behalf of the Company, while Mr. R. CH Lim. instructed by Mr. Sanderson, of Russ & Co. appeared for some of the employees in support of the petition.
After Mr. Macnamara had read the petition for the benent of His Lordship, he said. "Your Lord- ship knows something in connee- tion with this matter. The Off- cial Receiver has been appointedį. provisional liquidator with cer- tain powers. The application is
made under Section 163 of the Company's Ordinance, namely that the Company is unable to pay its debts. It is unnecessary for me to go into the financial position as it is simply hopeless.
"Y I'm elected President. there'll be a $30 minimum wage, – no capital punishment, and na dole," says Dr. Joseph A. Couter- marsh, Lebanon, N. H., dentist, who has announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination.
