IN spite of the various Swimming Clubs in the Colony cutting down their summer pro- gramme, activity this summer is quite likely to be. as large as last year, and, what with the Inter- port against Shanghai being staged here this season, things are again beginning to hum in the aquatic world.
I hear from a very reliable source that the Victoria Recreation Club are cutting down their monthly swimming galas and dances and have at long last realised that these monthly affairs do not help swimmers very much.
Their idea is, I understand, to hold more bi-monthly evening galas from 6 pm. until S. thus giving the swimmers an oppor tunity of stretching themselves and much more time for competi- tion before bed.
