THE greens are in almost perfect condition for the opening of the local lawn bowls league season, which commences to-morrow in Hong Kong and in Kowloon with nine encounters, five in the Senior Division, and four in the Junior.`
Bowling in the Colony is as popular as ever and will still make pro- gress. To see the improvement that quite a number of the younger bowlers have made is a treat to the ardent follower of the game, and gives ample scope for speculation.
It is a very interesting lawn bowls programme that has been prepar- ed for this week-end, and, should weather conditions be favourable, some exciting encounters should ensue.
