NE of the fastest hockey games ever seen in the Colony took place on the East Lanca- shire Regiment's sand ground at Shamshuipo yes- terday, instead of on the Marina ground, when India defeated England by 2 goals to 1 in the final of the International tournament, amidst intense excitement and cheering from a very large crowd.

There was no denying the fact that England, in spite of being handicapped by the loss of Parker, who was not informed of the change of venue, were the more aggressive side and in the second half dominated play for the greater period.

of soccer seen in the Colony this season at Caroline Hill yesterday, when the Hong Kong Football Association retained the Governor's Cup by defeating the Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation by the odd goal in three, after extra time.
Thrill followed thrill in rapid succession, and the spectators, who included His Excellency the General Officer -Commanding, Major General 0. C. Borrett, and Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Lo, were kept in a frenzy of excitement from the start to the final whistle. The Chinese were given many opportunities early. In the game, but failed to find the target, and when Rowlands saved a SINGLETON SCORES penalty, taken by Tam Kong-pak, late in the game, their last
hope vanished.
