FROM ABROAD

Flowers bought this last Christ- mas in England were almost all home-grown. Only a small quantity are imported now from France and Holland. Imports of foreign, flowers fell by more than 4500,000 in 1984.

There has been a great increase in the building of glasshouses, as a result of the tariffs imposed on for- leigu produce two years ago. Since then nearly £2,000,000 worth of glasshouses have been erected; bringing investments in this bual- nean up to £20,000,000. Unemploy- fed miners have found employment
