the regret of English lawn tennis professionals, the L.T.A. have refused to allow a discussion on the question of coaching at the general meeting.
be
As I revealed a short time ago, an allegation was made that un-) registered coaches, said to amateurs, were giving instruction in the game and charging fees.
One
would think that such a charge, made, as it was, by a res-
ponsible person registered with the
L.T.A., would have been thoroughly investigated, but apparently nothing is to be done.
The professionals naturally feel much aggrieved over the rejection of what they regard as a reasonable request, and are steadily coming to the conclusion that the L.T.A. is definitely unsympathetic towards those who openly make a living
from the game.
