.Paul and Dizzy Dean, pitchers for St. Louis Cardinals, scored a personal triumph in the major league American baseball yesterday when they assisted in blanking Brooklyn Dodgers twice in the'r double-header.
In the second game, Paul Dean fanned the Brooklyn batsmen with-i out 14 single hit being scored againat him. This is the first time since 1931 that the feat has been recorded in the major league.
The Cardinals took the first game by 13 to 0, Dizzy, Dean pitching.
After a previous double défent, Pittsburgh Pirates avenged them- selves by trouncing Cincinnati Reds by a margin of 16 to 3.
