MARKING THE TOUCHER

On the middle green the good heads were not as numerous as

the fair ones, although probably the best head of the match was the 19th. D. C. Alves opened by drawing to the jack. G.. Duncan followed, and displaced Alves wood, and also rested the jack. Alves then drew well and rest- ed the jack on the opposite side. Drawing carefully Duncan again rested Alves' wood. H. Rozario and Ward each bowled "touch- ers" with their first woods. 'and brought their remaining woods very close.

T. V. Riberio played heavily into the lay and took the jack back to give the Recreio the lay. W. Brightman was slightly heavy with his first wood and carried through to bring his wood to rest In a useful rear position. With his second wood Riberio increased the lay in favour of the Recreio, Brightman again failed to alter it, and Baste then 'drew carefully to increase the Regrelo's lay to three.
