DAZED AND BEWILDERED PRIMO CARNERA TRIES TO HOLD OFF DYNAMIC MAX BAER IN HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT BEFORE 52,000
Film shots of the epic Baer-Carnern fight in which the New York night-club Idol won the world heavyweight title on a 'technical knock-out in the eleventh found from the glant Italian man-mountain. An iden of the terrible punishment sustained by the Italian ex-champion can be gathered from the beating he is receiving from Baer in the above pictures. Carnera, towering over his opponent appears dazed and beaten as blow after blow smashes, against his defenceless body. Buffering from fractured ankle, sustained in the first round, Carnera, however, fought like a Spartan against the man who was thought to be so far out of condition that there was talk of past poning the bout.

CARNERA BATTERED BUT NOT FINISHED
MAY MEET BAER
AGAIN
IN SEPTEMBER
London,
PRIMO CARNERA, who was so sensationally defeated by Max Baer in New York, is bat- tered but not disheartened and he is definitely not finished with the ring yet. He is to have a chance to get his revenge next September when, according to Luigi Soresi, his manager, Baer has promised him a return fight.
The giant Italian has also had offers of fights against Jack Petersen, the British heavyweight champlon, in London, Paolino Uzcudun, the Spanish heavyweight champion, in Barcelona, and Max Schmeling, former world's heavyweight champion, in Milan. Carnera, however, is not returning to Europe yet.
The giant Italian will not be able to walk for some time, de- clares his doctor. His ankle is at least badly sprained and several ligaments are torn
ACCORDING TO SORESI, IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR THIS IN- JURY, WHICH OCCURRED DURING A KNOCK-DOWN IN THE FIRST ROUND, RESULTING IN HIS HARDLY BEING ABLE TO KEEP HIS FEET, CARNERA WOULD HAVE WON.
It is revealed that Carnera and not Baer was the man for whom
