THE POLICE ARE APPARENTLY ON THE UP-GRADE,
FOR AFTER HAVING LOST MATCHES IN A ROW. THEY HAVE WON THE LAST TWO, AGAINST CRAIGENGOWER "B" AND TAIKUO DOCKS R. C.. RESPECTIVELY.
There is still room for improvement in the rinks however, for, even though the last two matches have been won, on both oc- casions only one rink has been victorious, happily by a margin large enough to discount the losses on the two defeated rinks. Against Craigengower "B" W. E. Hollands rink was ponsible for victory, and last Saturday A. R. Clarke won by 19 shots to give the Police their second win of the season.

On form it was an easy thing for Craigengower, but then the form book is not always a reliable guide. Last Saturday was a good example: B. W. Bradbury's rink was defeat ed by A. E. Silkstone's (H. Hamp ton, J. Howe, and C. E. Elliot Heywood) by one shot, and . M. Omar just scraped home by one shot. It was R. Basa'a victory of 12 shots over J. Fraser that gave Craigengower the points, and a Iglance at the score card reveals W. E. Hollands (Police) that the combined rinks of the J. C. Brown (K.D.B.C.) C.C.C. scored 8 shots on the last A. E. Silkstone (K.C.C.) head. It could quite easily have been the reverse.
Good K.C.C. Recovery The rinks skipped by Silkstone and Bradbury were evenly matched, and, although the latter never lost the lead from the second head right
up to the 18th, the K.C.C. skip re-
gistered a 4, 8 and 1 to take the lead on the penultimate head by 2 shots; Bradbury secured a single] on the last head to reduce the
deficit to one.
R. P. Phillips and U. M. Omar also had a close game, but the home skip in this case held the lead. Excepting oo three occasions, when. Omar had a single shot ad- vantage, Phillips held the lead right up to the last head, when Omar
