BRIDGE NOTES

A Psychological Raise

by Ely Culbertson,

Mr. Jacob Sicherman writes me from Buffalo that they play a great deal of Bridge at the 'Montefore Club there. He laments that they do not always play with the ele- gance of experts, but says that the games there at least do not lack; verve and animation. Particularly is this true, he declares, when Mr.j George Michael Raikin, a lawyer of Buffalo, sits in at the Bridge table. Mr. Sicherman, playing with Mr. Ruikin, recently picked up this strong hand: He was South and vulnerable.

"THE MARCUS SHOW”..........

QUEEN'S THEATRE

The Marcus Show is filled with a galaxy of beautiful giris, come- |dica, songs, dances, acrobatics, and

skits that

are punctuated with rhythm. The girls are liveller and loveller than any other touring troupe geen in the Colony before, and, it is one of the [cleverest, most expensive and most beautiful revues ever brought to the Far East.

Much credit is due to Charles Hugo, the managing director and Leon Miller, the dance director and production manager.

Miller is not only dance director. and production manager but # |first-class__comedian. There are

so many stars in this production that it is difficult to select any in- dividual other than Miller for an outstanding performance.
