SPLENDID RECOVERY BY HOLLANDS & GREGORY OPEN RINKS MATCH PLAYED
EVERAL large victories were recorded in the eight First Round matches in the Open Lawn Bowls Pairs Championship yesterday, only one really close match being` played.
The best game of the afternoon was the finish of the postpon: ed match between H. Gittins and T, Fergusson, the K.C.C. pair and J. J. Gregory and W. E. Hollands, in which the latter pair made a remarkable recovery, to win on the remaining four heads to win by 18 shots to 17, after being 17 shots to 14 down at the com- mencement of play.

Low scoring was witnessed on the Civil Service green where the Police Fair, W. Mair and M. McLeod, defeated W. J. Howard and Y. Abbas, the Craigengower pair. by 16 shots to 12.
One match in the Open Rinks Championship was played you- terday, the Civil Service rink eliminating the K.C.C. rink without much difficulty, the K.CC. only winning eight of the 21 heads.
