MODIFICATION CLAIM SOME amazing figures have been
issued by the Scottish F.A., showing how League clubs are im- poverished by the entertainment tax, and a very reasonable claim is made that there should be some modification.
It is pointed out that the returns made by 47 clubs show that enter tainment tax paid was as follow:

This makes a grand total of £175,089, to which may be added an estimated sum for, each year of: at least £8000 on account of Scot tish Junior F.A. clubs, bringing the total up to £215,089, .

The overdrafts of nine Second Division clubs amount- ed to £17,700. for which the club directors

The returns show that in 1933 only six First League clubs made a profit, which amounted to £7456. while ten others lost £17,927. In the Second Division last season three clubs had a total profit of £812 and twelve had a joint loss of £6383.
