WITH ARMY.

AT HOCKEY

Second Half Equaliser By Atkinson

MILITARY SIDE SUPERIOR

(By STICKS)

Nagy

The Navy forced the Army to a draw in one of the hardest fought matches of the Triangular Tourna ment series this season when they shared two goals on the R.N.R.C. ground, King's Park. yesterday.

A well-balanced Army side prov-. ed the stronger team, and, although they pressed for the greater part of the game, could only lead by a goal, scored by Katar Singh, at the interval. The Navy obtained the equaliser from a breakaway by Lt. Comdr. Atkinson. in the second half.

A very large crowd witnessed the game. including 11.E. the Com- mander-in-Chief, Admiral Sir Fre- derte C. Dreyer, K.C.B., C.B.E.

Brilliant play by the Indian half-back line, with Dulla Singh ni Alaf Din the outstanding players, and good support from two very reliable full-backs in Li.] Metcalfe and LL. Rossier proved to be the strength of the Army side.

The naval inside forward tria, Atkinson, Currey and Enden, made several well combined attacks, but cach were broken up before 10 reached the danger zone.

MR. Norman Deitz is quite likely to become the champion joc- key this season. At the moment he has one more win than Mr. Benny Proulx, who is unable to ride at the Third Extra Meeting on Saturday week, and there is every probability that he will maintain his advantage. Mr. Butler and Mr. Heard are the other two serious contenders for the honours Mr. Frost won during the last three seasons,

Mr. W. H. Choy, who recorded two wins and a third place in MR. James Pote-Hant, brilliant
