Capes Collars And Sleeves
New Capes Play Big Part
In Paris Modes.
and
There is a lot of fuss about necks, shoulders, and sleeves. The hood line is popular, so is the cow? neck, and there is a new mighty collar which is slung about the neck to change low at the back, you may have it in fur in rushed and shirred velvet, in feathers, and in ruched ribbon.
Then there is the cape.
What
can be done and is done with the cape passes all imagination. You can have it drawn tightly about the shoulders in that pinched way that suggests surrow mind and
a tempar which gives way before difficulty. You can have it all wide and ruffly with feather trimmings, muslin, or ribbon ruches, and not loo low on the arms. You can elici it at the back, or you can hang it straight from the shoulders no that it ran be a cape at the back A drappery in front.

Then there is the long cape which Maggs Rouff makes in wooll for the day, and in velvet, satin or fur for the evening. And there
is also the wide, hip-length cape in velvet with a fur band which dips at the back and rises in front. Black velvet capen are lined with white or with colour, always the lining is different from the cape. Mainbecher is making tweed capes to go on coals and skirts some to take off, while others just trim the shoulders. There is a lot to be aald about capes this year.
