An exhilarating game of soccer was witnessed at the Club ground yesterday when Jardine Matheson's defeated Butterfield and Swire's by five clear goals in a game featured by many laughter-provoking situs-
tions.
Jardine's were clearly the bet-) ter team, and the opportunities they threw away in the Batterfield's goalmouth were countless.
Much amusement was caured by
All-China Soccer Team May Tour
Financial Support Needed After Olympiad
"There is every likelihood that the All-China soccer team to play in the 1931 Eastern Olymplad in Manila in May will afterwards tour Java and Malaya," I was informed yesterday evening by a prominent' official of the Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation.
The All-China Olympic team will be selected by the C.A.A.F. at Nanking, the Chinese Football headquarters, and players will be drawn from the beat Clubs in Hong Kong, Canton and Shanghai.
The local Chinese Federation are all in favour of sending a tour- Ing team to Java and Malaya, but the one obstacle at present is the finoncial one, and until this can be overcome the scheme must rest in abeyance.

WITH the exception of South W China and the Borderers who meet the Recreio and the East Lancs, respectively, the rest of the First

The Lincolns, present League. leaders, meet the Club who defeat- ed them by the odd goal in three last week in the Senior Shield Semi-final round.
I hear that Edminson, one of the reserve backs has made a quick recovery from his an- kle injury and will be seen out against the Club, thos strengthening the defence. Revival of Wo Wo Interport Cup.
TEAM PROBABLY LEAVE. IN JUNE THIS YEAR
An annual Interport contest be- tween the Combined Chinese teams of Hong Kong and Singapore for the Wo Wo Interport Cup will pro-
break of over two years.
The Trophy was originally pre- sented for annual competition, exch
of the ports to visit the other every alternate year.
PAU KA PING of South China, who was select-bably be revived this season after a
ed as goal-keeper in the Hong Kong Interport football team for the Triangular Interport series in Shanghai next month, will not be travelling with the team, I was informed yesterday, by the Secretary of the South China Football team. I un- derstand that the reason is because his wife has been taken ill.
This is a big setback to the Colony's chances, as Pau was more than worth his place, his versatility as an all-rounder be Ing well known.
McHardy, the reserve 'keeper, is now ́almost a certainty for the position, though Marques of St. Joseph's may be invited to make the trip.
It is certainly a pity that Combey could not be included for he is the next best to Pau Ka Ping-he leaves for Home on the Neuralia next month, and would make the fourth Serviceman in the team, which is not allowed.
Local Soccer Forecast
The following is my
forecast
ARGYLLS BEAT, EAST LANCS
The trophy was last compet ed for in 1931 when the Singa. pore Chinese, visiting the Colony, were defeated by four clear goals.
Between 1931 and this year the competition has been abandoned on several occasions owing to lack of financial aid and to the Sino- Japanese troubles.
An official of the Chinese |Amateur Athletic Federation told me yesterday that there was every possibility of a revival of the com- peticion, and that a team from the Colony would probably leave for Singapore some time in June.
