There are many who are guided entirely by training times. To these I would like to sound a note of warning, for training times are not an infallible guide. In fact, unless one sees the gallop and studies the time, the figures do not convey a very great deal.
Quite apart from training times, therefore, which are the most attractive ponies? Undoubtedly Mr. Li Shiu Pang's Soldier of Bri- tain, Mrs. Dunbar's Chief Seattle and Mr. "Hem's" Herod. The first two have registered some good gallops, but even if they have done nothing outstanding so far, they would have attracted attention as they are classy candidates. Herod has not yet done a good gallop, but anyone with an eye for horse flesh would pick him out as a very good Mr. Leo Frost has already been candidate. It would not be surprising if he turned out to be the best
