One of the fastest ladies' hockey matches seen for sometime was witnessed in the second Trial at Sookunpoo yesterday, between the "A" and "C" teams in preparation for the forthcoming visit of the Australian Ladies' hockey team.
An only goal scored by Miss M. Woolley in the first half gave the "A" team the victory.
Mias B. Pope (H. K. Ladies) was unable to play and her position at centre-half in the "C" team was taken by Miss M. Alves (Recreio). Mrs. Selby (II. K. Ladies) was also unable to play for the "C" team and Miss P. Gitlins (St. Andrew's) deputised. Miss G. Roza (Recreio played in goal in the absence of Miss B. d'Almada (Recrelo).
The "A" team's forward line combined very well, Miss M. Woolley playing extremely well in the centre with Miss J. Dalziel and Miss Churchill. Miss Knill was the outstand- ing winger, Miss O. Brown having an off-day, The intermediate line were very strong, Miss J. Wong being excel- Sent in the pivot position where she was very ably supported by Miss Woolley and Miss M, Wallace, the two outstanding halves.
