Shanghai, To-day Deserting from his destroyer in Tsingtao. Chief Petty Officer George Danko, of the United States Navy, arrived in Shanghai yester- day morning by train. He went to a house where his 26-year old Russian wife is alleged to be living with a Russian and, after an alter- cation, is alleged to have stabbed her in the abdomen with a knife.

Later Danko rushed his wife to hospital, where he was arrested by the police. He has been handed over to the United States authori- ties, but has not yet been charged.
